DescriptionJonas was born on March 30, 2022. He was the 4th ES addition to my farm in June in of that year. He came from Zion English Shepherds in Missouri. He’s been a sweet, happy, lovable puppy right from the start, always wanting to be picked up and cuddled. He is a playful talker too. At 8 1/2 wks old he surprised me with this very deep, toned roar that sounded like a lion. He was not growling, but actually was woo wooing like a sled dog. I could not believe that this puppy could make such a low roaring sound, hence his registered name. This roaring sound continues even today, to be his playful greeting when he dances around with me on the walk to go do chores.

Jonas has been to home improvement stores and dog friendly restaurants. As a pup, he even sat quietly through a live Orchestra playing at a park. He has earned his CGC, CGCA, CGCU, and his Therapy Dog Certification.

When Jonas is not visiting the horse, or checking on the sheep or chickens, he likes to amuse himself with a game of pounce on the stuffed banana and throw it up in the air. He also loves to fetch the Jolly Ball just like his sire Reddy. Jonas has strong herding drive with large livestock, but is very calm with the sheep. He likes to work tandem with Mathias or Tia trying to stare down my grazing horse who’s on the other side of the fence. He is loyal and very biddable as well.

Description: Iva was born October 12, 2018. She was my first ES puppy to come to my farm in December 2018. She came from Joshua Gipe of Berlin, PA. At 8 weeks old, besides being lovable, Iva was already displaying extreme confidence, intelligence and being adventurous. Within in 10 mins after I brought her home (a 3 hour trip) she fetched a toy 13 times in a row. I was amazed, as she was raised outside loose on a farm. The next day she boldly trotted up to the sheep, cattle and horse to announce that she had arrived. The 3rd day, Iva had her nose glued to the ground. She tracked my brother-in-laws boot tracks in the snow, back and forth to 4 different buildings that he had entered and left. Once again, I was amazed at this little bundle of fur.

Iva has been in numerous classes since she was 9 weeks old. She has excelled in all of them. She has her Therapy Dog Certification and has been conducting therapy visits since June 2021. Iva has also earned her CGC, CGCA, CGCU, BCAT, RATN, RATO, RATS, RATM, TKN, TKI,TKA. She
has also passed a Temperament test and a Farm Dog test.

Iva is very biddable, she has a sensible and calm (but forceful when needed) herding style. She only prefers to herd poultry, waterfowl and sheep now. This is because, when she was younger, she had an accidental dangerous/almost life threatening experience, with my horse. Iva is a fierce varmint eradicator. She will do whatever it takes to get that critter. She loves fetching, swimming, car rides and keeping the chickens off the back porch.
Iva especially enjoys her Therapy Dog visits. Whether she is with kids or the seniors at the nursing home, she loves to show off her tricks. It always brings a smile or a giggle to their faces, when Iva opens the mailbox and gets the mail. Or if she runs and gets a tissue when they sneeze.

Iva has been my best friend and a loving/ devoted companion when I needed one the most. She is the reason I love this amazing breed and want others to discover this best kept secret…..the English Shepherd!!

Iva averages 48 pounds and is 20″ to the shoulder.

Pedigree: Blacksheep Ginger and Sunshine x SSS Highland Skipper

Litter born April 10th, 2024 – 3 males and 4 females.

An Iva and Jonas pairing has been a litter in the plans for a couple of years now. Exciting to see those plans come to fruition! Pups from this pairing should excel in dog sports, herding, and be level headed family companions and farm dogs. This is a similar pedigree to Iva’s first litter, with Jonas’ sire, Reddy, in 2022. However, Jonas has the addition of the Corley genetics through his dam, Kelly. Bill and Gloria Corley were known for producing wonderful tri-color English Shepherds on their farm in Missouri. We are happy to have the addition of those genetics in Jonas.

Iva brings to the table Tish Toren’s Blacksheep genetics, to pair with those in Reddy, Jonas’ sire’s, pedigree. She also has genetics from Sycamore Springs ES in Maryland. Iva also is a granddaughter of Red Bank Whisper of Smoke, a dog who has been instrumental in preserving some of the more rare lines in the English Shepherd breed.
