Sire: Sir Ladde Yukon of Piney

Other testing: MDR1 – Normal/Normal

Description: Ladde was selected to sire this litter because of his own solid breeding that does not overlap with Carly’s. I wanted to diversify the pups’ genetic heritage but continue breeding for a good natured, calm dog that can also appropriately guard and protect his homestead and people. Ladde has been evaluated for herding ability and his owner was told he had potential. He particularly favors varmint eradication and accompanying his person on her activities around the farm. Ladde stands 24 inches at the shoulder and weighs a lean 60 pounds. His coat is a curly clear sable with Irish markings.

Pedigree: Betts Wilsons Yukon Gold x Johnson’s Gracie-Ann Squire

Dam: Copper Valley’s Glory Be Carly

Dam: Copper Valley’s Glory Be Carly

Other testing: MDR1: Normal/Normal

Description: Carly is a resilient, athletic, intelligent girl who plays well with others. I think of her as airborne or “vertically inclined” as she loves to climb and scale the heights, effortlessly clearing gates if she doesn’t figure out how to open them first. She has incredible speed and stamina in running in pursuit of game, but fortunately she’s never killed anything or gone beyond the 60 acres she calls home. Like her Dam, Carly alerts to birds of prey and also enjoys barking at predators in the night. She has not been given the opportunity to herd but has had some success with cats. Given the rough play she and her Sire engage in when beginning their mountain run, I think Carly would be a very effective cow dog if she only had cattle to move. Her Sire’s line is bred for moving cattle.

The week before she delivered her pups, Carly accompanied me to my clinical practice. Even though Carly has had relatively little training or socialization off the farm, I was amazed how gentle and sweet she was with each of my clients, especially those who were visibly sad. She has promise as a therapy dog!

Carly stands 20 inches at the shoulder and weighs a solid 52 pounds (pre pregnancy).

Pedigree: Cedar Creek Lad; Copper’s Light x Old Dance Into My Dream
